Overview
Italy’s more recent development as an international winter sports destination owes a lot to prices that are appreciably lower than those in other Alpine countries.
It has some other obvious attractions, such as its consistently good food and wine, friendly atmosphere and some incredible scenery.
Superb skiing and lifts
Some vast inter-linked lift systems with miles of intermediate cruising to rival the biggest French ski areas, extensive lift-accessed off piste and affordable heli skiing, some of the most modern lift systems in Europe with state of the art snow-making and top notch grooming, all combined with a generous helping of la dolce vita, make Italy the ideal destination for every type of skier.
Great for short breaks and for families
The flexibility of the hotels, large choice of flights and short transfer times, particularly to Courmayeur and the rest of the Aosta Valley, make it an ideal and affordable destination for short breaks and ski weekends. The low prices and Italian’s lovingly embracing approach to ‘bambinis’ mean that many resorts are also ideal for families.
