Momentum’s local knowledge and expertise has been called on regularly to organise drive outs for Martini. Glamorous events to attend, they require precision planning and great attention to detail. This one started in Milan at the Terrazza Martini, before a convoy of Porsches headed to stunning Lake Como, one of our favourite locations, and then on to the original Martini factory in Pessione, near Turin.
On this occasion the Martini Drive Out saw a convoy of Ferraris head from Milan to Lake Maggiore, then on to Courmayeur, before finishing up in Turin. Again, Momentum provided detailed planning, logistical support and expert local knowledge to deliver another seamless event.
Created for the Aston Martin Art of Living initiative by Quintessentially, this experience involved a 2-day Aston Martin drive in Courmayeur with gourmet dinners, apéritifs accessible by chairlift and descent by snowmobile, tackling an ice driving track and a snowy open road driving itinerary through Colle San Carlo at 2000 metres altitude.
A stunning Tuscan driving tour to discover the Cinque Terre off season, with the itinerary including a ride on the local winemakers’ terrifying monorails on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, making fresh authentic pesto on an open cliff in Manarola, discovering the meaning of a 0 km menu and exploring an uncharted part of Tuscany, the Lunigiana.
Featuring a driving itinerary around Turin, the capital of car design and chocolate, then into the Barolo and Barbaresco hills, the drive featured a trip to the Ceretto winery, a visit to the vegetable garden of the 3 Michelin-starred restaurant Piazza Duomo and tasting of the infamous 21…31…41…51 salad, a black truffle hunting expedition and a night in the gastronomy capital of northern Italy, Alba.
Starting off in Folkestone, this driving event took guests through the channel tunnel to an overnight stop in Beaune, with a bespoke mustard workshop at the unique family run Moutarderie Fallot, before continuing on to Courmayeur for a 3-day ski weekend, including a dinner in a mountain refuge, accessible only by cable car and snowmobile.
Starting with an overnight stay in a castle near Calais, this driving event took guests into western Burgundy, stopping in Saulieu for a 3 Michelin star dinner and the discovery of an off-road paradise near Dijon the next day. The Chateau de Thenissey is home to a network of off-road trails graded like ski runs. With a fabulous lunch and campfire prepared by its noble owner, guests then departed for Courmayeur and 3 days of skiing, fun dinners on the mountain and lots more.
Setting off from Calais, journalists drove in their brand-new vehicles to the stunning Château de Fère, set in Champagne country. Following a tour of the 13th Century medieval ruins in the grounds, dinner was served alongside wine-pairing and a fascinating talk on the Champagne bottling process and size categories. Continuing the glassmaking theme, day two consisted of a visit to Saint-Gobain Sekurit, where attendees learnt about the R&D and production of the Focus’ windows, before media headed back to the UK, via a pitstop at the historical Glade of the Armistice.
After landing in Lyon, guests picked up their vehicles and drove to Annecy for a gourmet lunch overlooking the snowy lake, followed by an exciting drive through the Col de la Clusaz to Megève. The evening continued with cocktails at the luxury M de Megève hotel, followed by a horse-drawn carriage drive to the first completely energy efficient farm in Europe, the Ferme de Joseph, for a delicious, rustic dinner. The next morning, guests drove to Les Contamines for a dog sledding experience in the national park, surrounded by snowy peaks, culminating in a cheese fondue lunch.
Forged over 10 years ago, Momentum Ski and Ford’s relationship still continues today. In conjunction with the Geneva Motor Show, Ford invite motoring, travel and lifestyle journalists to Courmayeur each year to launch their latest vehicle, ahead of the show opening. We put on an action-packed four days – previous years have included champagne tasting in Reims en route to the Alps, Segway touring, skiing, husky sledding, snow biking, and off-roading.
The Italian Alps in summer made a great backdrop for Ford to launch their latest vehicle to the press with stunning scenic test drives. Momentum looked after all the logistics for the event and organised an action-packed summer alpine programme including white water rafting, mountain biking, trekking and glacier walking.
